چکیده

Abstract The efficient resolution of optimization problems is one the key issues in today’s industry. This task relies mainly on classical algorithms that present scalability and processing limitations. Quantum computing has emerged to challenge these types problems. In this paper, we focus Metropolis-Hastings quantum algorithm, which based walks. We use algorithm build a software tool called Metropolis Solver (QMS). validate QMS with N-Queen problem show potential advantage an example can be easily extrapolated Artificial Intelligence domain. carry out different simulations performance its configuration.

A quantum-quantum Metropolis algorithm.

The classical Metropolis sampling method is a cornerstone of many statistical modeling applications that range from physics, chemistry, and biology to economics. This method is particularly suitable for sampling the thermal distributions of classical systems. The challenge of extending this method to the simulation of arbitrary quantum systems is that, in general, eigenstates of quantum Hamilto...

Modifying quantum walks: A scattering theory approach

We show how to construct discrete-time quantum walks on directed, Eulerian graphs. These graphs have tails on which the particle making the walk propagates freely, and this makes it possible to analyze the walks in terms of scattering theory. The probability of entering a graph from one tail and leaving from another can be found from the scattering matrix of the graph. We show how the scatterin...

Quantum Optimization Problems

Krentel [J. Comput. System. Sci., 36, pp.490–509] presented a framework for an NP optimization problem that searches an optimal value among exponentially-many outcomes of polynomialtime computations. This paper expands his framework to a quantum optimization problem using polynomial-time quantum computations and introduces the notion of an “universal” quantum optimization problem similar to a c...

Quantum Walks and Ground State Problems

OF THE DISSERTATION Quantum walks and ground state problems by Peter Courtland Richter Dissertation Director: Mario Szegedy Since the appearance of Shor’s factoring algorithm in 1994, the search for novel quantum computer algorithms has proved surprisingly difficult. Two design approaches that have yielded some progress are quantum walks and adiabatic computing. The former has been shown to spe...
